Micromanipulator Units
Siskiyou

Preassembled Micromanipulators for Microbiology, Electrophysiology and General Micro-Positioning Applications.
The MX7500 and MX7600 motorized 4-axis micromanipulators are ideal for patch and intracellular recording experiments. Crossed-roller
bearings provide exceptionally smooth linear travel. Precision preloaded lead screws with encoded, closed-loop DC motors
ensure drift-free operation. The probe axis is independent, with a clamp that allows angular adjustment from 0° to 180° -
you aren't limited to pre-programmed angles. The electrode travels straight into the target cell, not by iterating between
two axes with a " stair-step " approach created by a " synthetic " 4th axis.
The MX7800 series crossed roller bearing micromanipulator uses a folded Y-axis stage that narrows the footprint of the manipulator by half.
This narrow design enables the mounting of as many as six micromanipulators in a semicircle from side to side around the front of the microscope.
The MX7800s' XYZ axes have 20mm of travel, while the tilted axial axis has a full 50mm of travel to facilitate electrode change-out in tight quarters.
The long travel (50mm) of the 4th axis and its ability to be placed at ANY angle, when combined with one of Siskiyou's targeting controllers make
electrode change quick and simple.
The included pipette holder is mounted to an adjustable clamp on the probe axis. Its built-in rotational
stop allows easy pipette replacement. The probe rotates up and out, facilitating easy pipette replacement in tight spaces.
It accommodates all popular headstages with a variety of mounting options.
